His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of the Greek Orthodox Church of America will issue an Encyclical on behalf of the Holy Eparchial Synod designating October 15, 2017 as the ninth observance of National Leadership 100 Sunday. The celebration is held on a Sunday near to the Feast of Saint Iakovos on October 23 in honor of the Founder of Leadership 100.
Parish Priests throughout the nation will read the Encyclical at the Divine Liturgy. Many parishes are also planning a program during the coffee hour. Members of the Leadership 100 Board of Trustees will coordinate with Parish Priests across the country to develop awareness of the support provided by Leadership 100 for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, as well as for ministries in every Metropolis.
George S. Tsandikos, Chairman of Leadership 100, has named Theodore K. Zampetis of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, a prominent business leader and a member of the Executive Committee, as 2017 Chairman. He will serve in that role for the sixth consecutive year. Zampetis also serves as Chairman of the National Membership Committee.
“National Leadership 100 continues to demonstrate the commitment of our Archbishop, the Metropolitans and Clergy to join with our faithful members to bring the message of the indispensable support Leadership 100 provides for our Church and Community. Ted Zampetis has been our foremost messenger in elevating the importance of National Leadership 100 Sunday,” said Tsandikos.
Today, Leadership 100 counts 1,060 members from a broad spectrum of Greek Orthodox leaders, men and women of all ages from every field of endeavor, including 140 young adults. Over three decades, more than $48 million in grants have been disbursed to support the National Ministries and institutions of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, as well as Metropolis Ministries, other programs and projects that advance Orthodoxy and Hellenism and humanitarian needs in the nation and around the world.
